Koh Tao PADI Night Diving Course – Explore the Dark

As ocean explorers, the mystery of the sea at night is an enticing adventure. Diving at night is a whole new world, when the animals we see during the day go to sleep, and nocturnal creatures come out to play.
Our Coral reefs come alive when the sun goes down, full of life and activity.
The PADI Night diver specialty course is the perfect program to introduce you to the underwater world at night, under the glow of your dive light.
Included in the Koh Tao Night Diver Specialty Course:

  • PADI Night Diver specialty Manual
  • 3-night training dives
  • PADI Certification card
  • Rental of all scuba equipment including torch
  • FREE use of Dive Computer
  • Logbook
  • Maximum 4 students per PADI Instructor

    To enroll in a PADI Night Diver specialty course you must:

  • Be an Open Water diver
  • Have recent diving experience – we recommend completing a scuba review if you have not dived for 12 months
  • 12 years of age or older
  • Medically fit to dive
    We conduct the Night Diver specialty course over 1-3 evenings depending on your personal timeframe.

    The PADI Night Diver specialty course consists of two sections:

  • Knowledge Development – read the PADI Night Diver specialty manual and complete the knowledge reviews
  • Open Water training – 3 x training dives
    At Koh Tao Diving School we take our customer promise very seriously. All courses are conducted with a maximum of 4 students per PADI Instructor.
    Our Dive instructors are highly trained and will ensure you receive lots of attention and most importantly, progress at your own pace in a relaxed environment.
    During your training, we will slowly build your confidence and ability as you develop the skills necessary to become a night diving specialist diver.

    Course Schedule

    Day 1:
    16.30 – 18.00: Orientation & Knowledge Development
    18.30 – 20.00: Night Diver specialty training dive 1
    Day 2:
    18.30 – 20.00 Night Diver specialty training dive 2
    Day 3:
    18.30 – 20.00 Night Diver specialty training dive 3

    You have now completed the course and are a certified PADI Night diver.
    PADI Night Diver Specialty Course Information Orientation & Knowledge Development
    We start the PADI Night Diver specialty course at 16.30 with an Orientation that includes the completion of paperwork and the PADI Medical statement
    The PADI Night Diver specialty course consists of 3 training dives that we take at a selection of dive sites around Koh Tao.
    There is also a Night Diver specialty manual to read and two open-book knowledge reviews to complete that your dive instructor will guide you through and review.

    The Instructor-led knowledge development is conducted during the afternoon of day 1. Some of the subjects you will cover include

  • Factors to consider when evaluating a potential dive site for night diving
  • Environmental conditions you should avoid when night diving
  • Night diving planning considerations
  • How to deal with stress, light failure, buddy separation & disorientation while night diving
  • Techniques for descending & ascending at night to avoid disorientation
  • Methods of communication while night diving
  • Techniques for navigating underwater at night

    Become a master of the darkness underwater and complete our 3 Night dive trip
