The deeper depths of the ocean have always fascinated ocean explorers and becoming a PADI Deep Diver will allow you to dive into exciting shipwrecks and wall dives that are beyond 18 meters.

    Pre-requisites for PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course:

  • Be an Adventure diver or have a qualifying certification from another agency
  • Recent diving experience – we recommend completing a scuba review if you have not dived for 12 months
  • 15 years old or older
  • Medically fit to dive We conduct the PADI Deep Diver specialty course over 1.5 – 2 days.

    The course consists of two sections:

  • Knowledge Development – Read the PADI Deep Diver manual and complete the knowledge review
  • Open Water training – 4 x Deep diver training dives

    At Black Turtle Dive we take our customer promise very seriously. All courses are conducted with a maximum of 4 students per PADI Instructor Our Instructors are highly trained and will ensure you receive lots of attention and most importantly, progress at your own pace in a relaxed environment. During your training, we will slowly build your confidence and ability as you develop the skills necessary to become a competent PADI Deep diver specialist.

    Course Schedule

    Day 1:
    09.00 – 11.30: Orientation & Knowledge Development
    12.30 – 17.00: Deep diver training dives 1 & 2 (Just Dive 2 if AOW)
    Day 2:
    07.00 – 11.00: Deep diver training dives 3 & 4
    11.30 – 12.00: Log dives + Certification You are now a certified PADI Wreck diver.

    You are now a certified PADI Deep diver specialist.
    PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course Information
    Orientation & Knowledge Development
    We start the PADI Deep Diver specialty course at 09.00 with an Orientation that includes the completion of paperwork and the PADI Medical statement.
    The PADI Deep Diver course consists of 4 training dives at a variety of deeper dive sites around Koh Tao. There is also a Deep Specialty Diver manual to read and an open book knowledge review with 20 questions that your instructor will guide you through and review.

    The Instructor-led knowledge development is conducted during the morning of day 1. Some of the subjects you will cover include:

  • Personal deep-diving depth limit
  • Specialized equipment recommended for deep diving
  • Nitrogen narcosis
  • Signs and symptoms of decompression illness
  • Emergency decompression stop
  • Factors that may predispose a diver to decompression sickness

    There are 4 Wreck training dives to complete to become a PADI Wreck Diver specialist:
    Deep Diver training dive #1
    Experience the feeling of Nitrogen Narcosis for the first time and learn how to safely plan and execute a dive, deeper than 18 metres.
    Compare how color changes at the surface and at depth and practice descents and slow controlled ascents before making a safety stop for 3 minutes
